The tricone bit's three-cone design allows for efficient cutting and penetration of various rock formations. The cones rotate independently, distributing the cutting force evenly, which helps to increase the drilling speed and reduce the time required to complete the well.

It can adapt to different types of rock, including soft, medium - hard, and hard rocks. The teeth on the cones are designed to handle different rock characteristics, making the bit suitable for a wide range of geological conditions commonly encountered in water well drilling.
